PE

PE is taught twice a week. Please make sure that your child has their PE kit in school all week.

Homework

Every half term, your child will receive a homework matrix. These activities are mostly linked to subjects covered in class. We ask that one task is completed per week. Evidence of homework can be glued into children’s books, photographs tweeted or emailed to us, or items brought into school! We will collect homework books in on a Wednesday morning and they will be returned by the end of the week.

Reading

We are a reading school and actively encourage reading throughout the week. As well as the reading pupils enjoy at school, we would also like children to read to an adult or older sibling at home at least three times per week.

Spellings

A list of the lower KS2 common exception words can be found in the back of homework books and in the Spelling Box below. Children are expected to spell all of these accurately by the end of year 4; we teach these in class and also encourage children to practise these at home. Other spelling patterns are taught within explicit spelling lessons and phonics sessions.
