How to apply for a place

Applications for places at Seamer and Irton CP School in all year groups are managed by the Local Education Authority, North Yorkshire County Council.  You will find all the information you need, including an online application form to apply for a place, on their website: www.northyorks.gov.uk/education-and-learning/school-admissions. Alternatively please contact the school office and we will be happy to help you.

Starting School in Reception

Children are admitted to Reception at the start of the Autumn Term of the school year during which they will be five years old. You will receive details of our carefully planned transition arrangements before your child starts to ensure a smooth and happy transition into school life.

Appeals

The maximum number of children the school can take in the Reception Year (The Published Admission Number (PAN)) agreed with the Local Education Authority is currently 60. If your child cannot be allocated a place at Seamer and Irton CP School you will be entitled to an appeal in-line with current legislation. Appeal arrangements are available on the NYCC website: Appeal for a school place | North Yorkshire County Council or from the admissions team on request:
